Toilet Facts:
Are 1.6 gallon toilets required
by law? top
Ultra-low flush toilets are required in all new construction in California
as of January, 1992. This statewide requirement was passed to promote
water conservation.
What are ultra-low flush toilets? top
These toilets look similar to the older toilets but use a more advanced
flushing mechanism which allows them to use only 1.6 gallons per flush
or less.
How much water can I save by switching
to an ultra-low flush toilet? top
A typical family can save more than 25 percent of water used inside
the home by replacing a pre-1994 toilet with a ULFT model.
Will I need to flush more than once? top
Double flushing is seldom needed. But when necessary, two flushes
use less water than a conventional toilet uses in one flush. Although
it is true the first low flush toilets that were designed did not
operate as efficiently. Manufacturers have since redesigned these
toilets and they have proven to be excellent, state-of-the-art toilets.
Do you offer colored toilets? top
No, only white are available.
Can I get an elongated toilet? top
In some toilet programs, customers can pay a small co-pay and receive
elongated toilets.
Does the toilet seat come with it? top
Call 1-800-366-6995 to check.
Do these toilets require more cleaning
than conventional toilets? top
No. The flushing action washes the bowl quickly and efficiently. Occasionally,
toilets with a small water surface may require slightly more cleaning
than other types.
